Discover If You Have Inflammation Before it Becomes a Major Problem
AlphaSight 9000 ™ Whole body Thermometry System
Thermal imaging or Thermography creates a digital map of your body that illustrates heat patterns, patterns that may detect some condition or abnormality.
It uses a scanning-type infrared camera that measures your body surface temperature, presenting the information as a digitized image.
What can Thermography detect?
Since your body is normally thermally symmetrical, thermal asymmetries can indicate problems, for example:
* Head * Teeth * Breast * Neck * Chest * Lymph
* Sinus * Pankreas * Gallbladder * Kidney * Stomach
* Liver * Spinal Column * Thyroid * Prostate
How does Thermography work?
Infrared measurements of skin temperature from 90-120 body points on the body are taken before and after exposure to a cool-ambient room temperature.
After 10 minutes of exposure to cool temperatures the same points on the body are re-measured to see if there are any changes.
The AlphaSight measures the difference between the two temperatures and compares the data to a database of healthy patients. It reveals deviations that identify patterns that are reflected in easy to understand charts and reports.
How does Thermography differ from Mammography?
Mammograms look at anatomical changes in the breast, as they detect masses or lumps in the breast tissue.
On the other hand, Thermograms look at vascular changes in the breast, as they detect blood flow patterns, inflammation and asymmetries.
Frequently asked questions:
Do I need a prescription for this?
You need a referral notice from your doctor, nurse practitioner, Chiropractor or other healthcare practitioner. The report does go to your health care professional. Patients of the ISHSKO CENTRE will have an internal referral and discussion of the findings 1 week later either in person or by Skype consultation.
Why have I not heard of this?
Thermography has been used in Mainland Europe for many years. In Ireland until now, Thermograms were done in select doctor’s offices. Now they can do this in any professional office.
Who should have this test?
Anyone interested in maintaining health. This test can be done on men, women & children, age 8-96
Does the devise emit harmful radiation?
No, it uses a non-invasive infra red camera and sensor to detect inflammations.
Will my insurance cover this?
At this moment not many insurance companies are covering this procedure. As insurance policies are between the individual and the insurance company, we advise you to contact them directly and ask if this scanning procedure is covered. VHI is not covering the procedure as yet.
How much does it cost?
The Fee for the test including a full report is €260 for men and children and €285 for women.

- Arthritis: Thermography might help you detect early signs of arthritis.
- Sinus Issues & Headaches: Significant heat in your forehead or sinus region could be revealed on a thermal scan.
- Digestive Disorders: Irritable bowel syndrome, diverticulitis and Crohn’s disease are often visible with thermography
